IoT takes to sea

The Internet of things is descending to the ocean floor. Optimizing diving operations.

In a previous article we announced the concept of providing real-time data and/or instructions for divers that work on, or inspect, sub-sea structures.

We also build a proof of concept model to eliminate impossibilities as early as possible. That PoC turned out to be successful.

Now we miniaturized all the components and build an absolute prototype that could fit into the helmet.

The image shows one of our engineers assembling the various components into the helmet. This assembly is quite a precision task since one can not exclude water penetration into the helmet during operations. All visual components should not obstruct normal sight and the micro processors have to be able to dissipate their heat.

Wonder if we still will get wet?
